v2.2.6August 3, 2026

Family Chores & Undo

New
  • Family chores — create one chore all your kids share, and connect allowances to completing it
  • Undo a chore payment — approved one by accident? Tap the entry in Activity to take it back
  • Paused chores are back on the Chores page, with one-tap resume
  • Two kinds of chore — “Paid extra” that earns money, or “Family chore” that’s simply part of being in the family with no payment attached. Filter the Chores page by Family or Paid, and each type brings its own ready-made ideas when you assign one
  • Earning conditions (Pro) — hold an allowance until every family chore assigned to your child is approved, with grace days to finish late. Newly added family chores count automatically, and deleted or paused ones drop out on their own
  • Kids can see the finish line — a progress strip on their home screen and chores page shows how many family chores are done, when the allowance lands, and what’s still waiting on your approval
  • My Missions separates Family Chores from Ways to Earn — family chores carry a Family badge instead of a dollar amount, and finishing one still counts toward streaks and badges
  • Undo right from the approval — approving a paid chore in Inbox shows an eight-second toast with an Undo button, so a mistaken tap can be taken back on the spot
  • Reminders card in Settings → Notifications — one place to turn chore reminders and goal check-ins on or off
  • “Have an invite code?” — type a co-parent invite code in by hand on the Join Family screen, so you can join even when you’re installing the app fresh from the store
  • Learning Center grew to 55 guides — 18 new ones, each paired with a hands-on tool or worksheet — plus a new “Teaching kids about money by age” hub and a standalone Allowance CalculatorWeb
Improved
  • Undoing a chore payment takes back only what’s still there — unallocated money first, then Save, Spend and Give, never pushing a balance below zero — and tells you the difference if some was already spent. Your child gets their own notification, and the entry leaves their activity feed
  • “Pay now” on an allowance with earning conditions (Pro) shows where your child stands — “2 of 4 family chores done” — and asks you to confirm before paying anyway
  • Deleting a chore spells out what will happen first — payment history stays, pending requests are declined with a reason your child sees, and the chore drops out of any allowance’s earning conditions
  • Unpaid family chores show a Family badge wherever a dollar amount would normally sit — your review queue, Inbox, the mark-complete sheet, and your kid’s activity feed
  • Parent screens explain themselves better — Add Chore offers a one-tap route to add your first child, Mark Completed says when a chore has nobody assigned, “pick at least one kid” tells you why Create is still greyed out, and the kid switcher stays hidden until you have kids
  • Family invite links open directly in the app on iPhone and iPad, the invite shows which address it was sent to, and a join that can’t complete explains why and offers a way forward — including for sign-ins that use Apple’s Hide My Email
  • Signing up with Google or Apple carries straight through to your family setup, and password-reset emails now come from Sprout Saver and land on a Sprout Saver page
  • The notifications prompt is asked once, right after parent setup — and kids are never asked at all
  • Insights figures reviewed and corrected (Pro) — goal progress, trend lines, the interest projection, Shop Runway, Stars Retained and chore completion. “Net Worth Change” is now the clearer “Period Net Income”
  • Buying and keeping Pro is smoother on phones — Android shows an “Activating your subscription” step with a Restore Purchases fallback, and Pro stays on while a store payment retries
  • Stronger safeguards around your family’s data — daily backups with point-in-time recovery, and a recovery process we’ve tested end to end
  • Clearer confirmations before paying the same chore twice
  • Reliability and privacy improvements under the hood
Fixed
  • Chores come back on schedule — one is available again when its next period starts in your child’s own time zone, and paying a chore again after an undo goes through
  • Editing a chore saves with the description left blank, and clearing a description now sticks
  • Money moves land where they should — approving a goal cash-out releases the original hold, an early vault release goes through, and switching a child to separate Save, Spend and Give jars rebalances them against the real balance
  • Attaching a photo to a chore on Android is more reliable when the app has been in the background a whileAndroid
v2.2.5May 24, 2026

Dark Mode Polish

Improved

v2.2.4May 21, 2026

Microtransaction Tracker & Redesigned Child Pages

New
  • Microtransaction Tracker (Pro) — set monthly spending limits per game; kids see custom-themed cards for each of their favorite games on their home screen, showing what they’ve spent and what’s leftPro
  • 13 games supported out of the box, including Roblox, Fortnite, Minecraft, Toca Boca World, Brawl Stars, Pokémon GO, and Genshin Impact — plus a Generic option for anything else
  • Tag a withdrawal as a game purchase right from the approval card — counts toward that game’s tracker automatically
  • Retag a past transaction or payment any time; the month’s spending updates to match
  • Log a game purchase you paid for directly so it still counts toward your child’s tracker
  • Filter the activity list to just microtransactions (Pro)Pro
  • Child management page overhauled for a more intuitive design — themed hero with each kid’s avatar and accent color, cleaner tab-based navigation (Overview, Money, Chores, Goals, Lessons), and a softer look across every modal
  • Approve or reject chores right from the child page
  • Child Settings reorganized into six sections (Profile, Interest, Allowance, Theme, Security, Danger Zone) with a drill-in layout on mobile
  • Tap any activity row to open a detail sheet with the date, amount, description, and tag
Improved
  • Parent forms now show a quick hint when something’s missing — “Pick at least one child”, “Enter a chore name” — so you know exactly what to fill in
  • Brand-new families get a one-tap “Add Your First Child” shortcut when they open Add Chore for the first time
  • Approval toast names the game when a tagged withdrawal counts toward a tracker — “Approved · tagged Roblox”
  • Kid cards on the parent Kids page now reflect each child’s theme color and avatar, matching the redesigned child pages
  • Smarter game tagger — needs more than a single generic keyword (like “gold”) before suggesting a tag, so false matches are rare
Fixed
  • iOS subscription purchases that succeed no longer show a false-failure toastiOS
  • Paid-out withdrawals now show “Withdrawal paid” in your transaction history once you mark them complete
  • The “Tag as game purchase” option now appears only on transactions where it makes sense — not on allowance, interest, or chore rewards

  • Parent tour now reliably finds its anchor on lazy-loaded sections (no more “highlight floats over the wrong card”)
Fixed
  • Avatar editor no longer overshoots the viewport by ~64px on tablets and desktop browsers
  • Trophy frame rounded corners restored on iPadOS SafariiOS
  • Toast now surfaces if an in-app purchase fails partway through (previously the screen would just close)iOS
